REFLECTION:

  • I created this video to show how you can edit to the music, I decided to use shots of fireworks, smoke and candles being lit to show different types of beats. I decided to use footage from Tom Vek - Aroused as it displays a montage of people smoking, I cut different footage from the duration of the music video that intrigued me and portrayed various shot types; I decided to use the single head shots instead of the group shots as it reminded me of Andy Warhol's stylistic in film. This video displays an experimental interpretation of editing to music, I decided to take that approach as I used footage that I visualised while listening to this piece of music. I decided to use black and white footage because I think the music is quiet simplistic as the music had little lyrics throughout complimenting the black and white colour palette. I personally think this video works very well as I worked closely to the beats in order to match footage precisely to the beat, I also think my filler footage compliments the footage I used to highlight the beats within the music.
