Music Video {Location Ideas}

To make it easier for us when it comes to filming the final idea we decide upon, I took it upon myself to brainstorm various location ideas for our five ideas, due to Connie and Emily being the ones who brainstormed the ideas I thought I would brainstorm the locations so we had put in equal amounts of time into our music video.

I decided to do a location list for all five songs due to us not knowing our final choice in song just yet and hopefully having a location list may help with us decided as we can see how much it will cost us to travel to certain locations as well as keeping a low budget because we are all students.

Luckily for our group, I can drive so if we need to get to places I could drive us depending on how many people need taking. We also have options of public travel such a bus, trains and uber's depending on prices, this will have to be looked into when we decide on our final idea.

Two Doors Down - Mystery Jets:
Due to the idea of having this music video low-budgeted we are limited to the location aspect as we don't want to be spending all of our budget on travel. So staying in a location close to our homes would probably be best as it doesn't take much to travel to once place.

I'm not calling you a Liar - Florence and the Machine:
Due to Florence and the Machine giving of naturalistic vibes, the location preferably needs to be somewhere that has naturalistic surroundings, allowing us to stay true to the band. Having the idea of naturalistic vibes allows us to be quite free with the location due to us being surrounding my parks and forests which we could use.

I only wear Black - The Wombats:
Due to the idea behind this song being someone dressed up as a monster, we could be limited to the locations of filming as the person dressed up could feel uncomfortable with walking around in public while dressed as a monster.

Figures - Jessie Reyez
Due to the idea behind this music video having various locations as we want to feature flashbacks from a relationship that has ended, as well as feature an abandoned building where the female ties the male to a chair and leaves him. I had to be mindful of the locations as some abandoned places may be unsafe or get us into trouble if we get caught.

Thoughts - Tate McRae
Due to this idea being an abstract dance piece preformed in an abandoned building, I had to be mindful of the locations I looked for as some abandoned places may be unsafe or get us into trouble if we get caught. Most of the abandoned places are in Birmingham due to it holding lots of old factories due to Birmingham being an industrial town, especially Digbeth.

Overall, I think these location ideas will help us with making the decisions for our final project idea, however these lists are just ideas which can be added to if we find a better location in further research. I hope we can visit some of these places before we decide upon our final idea to test if the places are safe or if they are good enough for us to use because some of these places could be re-furbished or knocked down. So I would rather us travel before hand so that we are aware before we start filming instead of loosing out on precious filming time if we left it until the filming day to go to location.

Maps and Images of Locations:

Hartshill Hayes Country Park:Peaceful, leafy park with a visitor centre, walking trails, playground & a weekend tea kiosk. Hartshill Hayes is a 14 minute drive from my home in Atherstone and offers parking for only £3.

Atherstone: Atherstone is my home town, so it is free for me. However, Connie and Emily will either have to pay for public travel {bus or train} or I will pick them up as I drive this will all be depending on them.

Camphill: Camphill is Emily's home town, so it is a cheap alternative for us. I would be able to drive to there as it is only a 10 minute drive from home and I could pick Connie up along the way or she could get public transport to Emily's and meet us.

Digbeth: Digbeth would be a location we would have to take public transport to due to it having limited parking facilities as well as the parking facilities being quite rough. A train to Birmingham is £10 and then we will have to walk to Digbeth which is a 5 minute walk. This option is a pricier one but would be a cool location for our music video.

Birmingham: Birmingham would be a location we would have to take public transport to due to the parking facilities being quite expensive as it is a town centre. A train to Birmingham is £10, this option is a pricier one but would be a cool location for our music video.
